Lake Charles Mayor Hosts Christmas Movie Night Dec. 20

Lake Charles, La [KNGT-FM] - The Christmas spirit is alive, and for folks in Southwest Louisiana, they are in full holiday mode. From going to Christmas parties to shopping to wrapping gifts, the holidays keep us busy.

Sometimes during the holiday's we need to just slow down and enjoy the season and maybe catch a holiday movie. The city of Lake Charles is going to give you that chance. Here is your chance to not only catch a holiday movie but also rub elbows with the Lake Charles Mayor.

Katie Haarington with the city of Lake Charles announced that The Movies with the Mayor Series is set to make a holiday season return on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, at the Rosa Heart Theatre inside the Lake Charles Event Center and is presented by Children’s Miracle Network.

That Saturday afternoon, the event will get underway with Cookies, Cocoa, and More at 4 p.m. on the Second Floor Mezzanine. There will also be a reading nook, a coloring station, an activity station, and a selfie station. The feature presentation, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, will begin at 5 p.m. in the theatre. 

According to Harrington, the event would not be possible without sponsors, saying,

The Village Coffeehouse, Albertsons, JD Bank, Calcasieu Parish Public Library, The Pediatric Center, Eloise Huber, and CHRISTUS Ochsner SWLA Foundation.

So gather the family, grab the kiddos, bring your holiday spirit, and enjoy an afternoon of family fun and hanging out with the Mayor of Lake Charles, Marshall Simien. It is going to be a great time.
