Lake Charles Native Has Huge Night in MLB on Tuesday Night
There certainly have been plenty of ups and downs for the Oakland Athletics so far in the 2023 campaign with more downs than ups for the club. The A’s are sporting just a 13-50 overall record sixty-three games into the season.
Towards the end of 2022, the Athletics and Lake Charles native and former Hamilton Christian Warrior Jace Peterson inked a two-year $9.5 million dollar deal. Peterson had played for the Brewers, Orioles, Yankees, Braves, and Padres since getting drafted back in 2011 with the 58th overall pick in the supplemental first round of the Major League Draft.
Last night, Peterson had a phenomenal night at the plate and helped defeat the Pittsburg Pirates 11-2. Jace went to the plate five times and was able to grab a hit in all five plate appearances. Peterson was able to score three times, rack up five runs batted in while hitting two home runs in the effort. Peterson with the heroic night was able to raise his batting average from .194 to .218. “Over the last week and a half, I feel like I’ve had good at-bats. Not technically the results that I've wanted, but I feel like it’s getting better” is what Peterson told the media after last night’s game." (Per NBC Bay Area)
With the effort from Peterson, it was able to help the Athletics end their 15-game road losing streak.
