Lake Charles Walmart Now Administering COVID-19 Vaccines

People in Southwest Louisiana have been trying to find more places to get the COVID-19 vaccine, and we just found another spot to get yours. I know from experience that Sam's off Nelson Road and Brookshire Brothers in Sulphur on Ruth Street are administering them, but now we found you another site.

Walmart located at 3415 Gerstner Memorial Blvd - or as some of us who have lived here forever still call it, Highway 14 - will start administering COVID-19 vaccines in the pharmacy inside the store in conjunction with the U.S. Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. They are now booking appointments and they currently have available appointments.

If you follow the link above, you can make your appointment and also find out the criteria for who is eligible right now. On their website, they answer questions like is there a cost for the shot, who is eligible, can you choose the vaccine your receive, and do you need a doctor referral.

Their online scheduler makes it easy to book your appointment.  If you know some older folks in your life who are not tech savvy, you may need to help them navigate through the site to help them get their appointment.
