Louisiana Congressional candidate Clay Higgins is on the hook for more than $100,000 in child support payments, according to a lawsuit filed last week.

The Advocate's Mark Ballard reported one of the "Cajun John Wayne's"  former wives--Rosemary "Stormy" Rothkamm Hambrice--has filed a lawsuit seeking back child support for three children dating back to 2005.

The lawsuit claims that Higgins was ordered by an Orange County (Texas) judge to pay $1,289 per month for three children following the couple's divorce in 1999. Higgins reportedly stopped paying the monthly payments in 2005.

The suit was filed with the 27th JDC in Opelousas last Wednesday.

The three children are now adults; the youngest of the three graduated high school in 2013.

Higgins is facing fellow Republican and PSC member Scott Angelle for a Congressional seat in Louisiana's 3rd District.
