Christmas has come early for Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana residents. Hot-boiled crawfish is back! Yep, you heard us right, those delicious crustains are back and there are some restaurants in the Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana area already starting to serve them.

It seems like the crawfish season gets underway earlier and earlier every year. Last year if you remember, was a little harder to get some early in the season. That is because, in the Summer of 2023, Louisiana had a major heat wave with no rain for like two months, crippling the crawfish farming industries.

It finally rebounded in the first part of 2024, and the season flourished in the second half. The sizes last season were really small at the start but by the time you got to Lent and after Easter, they were back to normal.

So how will the 2025 crawfish season be? None of the problems we discussed above has affected this year's crawfish season as local restaurants are already serving hot-boiled crawfish to their customers.

So, where can you get your favorite Louisiana treat right now? We looked around and found a few places that are serving boiled crawfish or are set to start serving it this week.
