With the cold weather, sleet, snow and icy conditions local agencies, trash pickups and schools have shut their doors today.  This is for the safety of the public and for the kids going to school.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury advised that their offices will be closed today due to hazardous conditions on area roadways.  Tom Hoefer with the CPPJ said offices are scheduled to re-open for regular hours Thursday, January 18, weather permitting.
