Two Louisiana Casinos Nominated For 10 Best Outside Vegas by USA TODAY

[KNGT-FM] -- If you are from Louisiana and or have visited the bayou state, you know that all over the state are casino resorts. There are casinos located in Shreveport, Bossier City, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Kinder, Vinton, Opelousas, and other cities in Louisiana.

Some of the casinos in Louisiana also have horse tracks. They have live thoroughbred and quarter horse racing, and they also have slot machines. You won't find any table games at these casinos because the substitute having table games so that they can have live horse racing.

In the Southwest Louisiana area alone, there are five casino resorts, with two of them housed in the city of Lake Charles and one just over the bridge in Westlake, Louisiana. There is also one 30 minutes West of Lake Charles in Vinton and one about 40 minutes North and East of Lake Charles.

The USA Today has just announced that they have launched a best of and have asked Which casino outside of Las Vegas is the best? They have all the nominees posted on their website, and we were pleasantly surprised that two Louisiana casinos are in the running for the best of.

We were excited that the two casinos that are up for the top honors with the USA Today are both right here in Southwest Louisiana. L'Auberge Casino Resort and the Golden Nugget Casino Resort are both in the running for the best casino resorts outside of Las Vegas. What is cool is that both are nominated, and they are housed right next to one another in Lake Charles.
