The deadline for Louisiana residents to file their state income tax returns is coming soon in June.

The Louisiana Department of Revenue granted filing extensions this year due to the ice storm in February. The new deadline in June 15.

The federal government also extended their tax filing deadline due to the COVID-19 pandemic from April 15 to today, May 17. If you thought both state and federal were due on June 15, you will need to fill for an extension with the federal government.

Both tax deadline extensions are automatic, which means individuals don't have to file extra paperwork to recieve the extensions.
