Louisiana Governor Jon Bel Edwards has a press conference last week to address the COVID-19 situation in Louisiana and the new DELTA variant.  During the press conference, Edwards advised that cases are way up in the state.

Edwards issued a state wide mask advisory which stated all individuals vaccinated or not should wear a mask indoors if you can't maintain a distance of six feet.  That advisory has got people wondering if we will go back to a mandatory mask mandate once again or if restrictions will be put in place.

Piggybacking what the Governor said, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles has issued a statement about what Louisiana residents will need to adhere to when visiting one of the statewide offices.

Matthew Boudreaux with the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles said,

To help stop the spread of COVID-19, facial coverings will be required inside all Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles locations beginning Monday, July 26, 2021.

The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles is reminding customers to utilize the free LA Wallet app when possible. LA Wallet allows eligible customers to request a duplicate driver’s license and renew their current driver’s license.

To avoid having to visit a location of the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles try and do all your current business online at www.expresslane.org.
