The folks at Parade.com have announced that Target will be closing for a few days this Holiday Season. This year, Louisiana Target locations will close all of its stores on both Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. This change is part of a trend that many major retailers, such as Walmart, are following by keeping their doors shut on these holidays. The goal is to give employees time to spend with their families while balancing the busy holiday rush.

In past years, Target has extended shopping hours in December to help customers finish last-minute gift shopping. This includes keeping stores open as late as midnight from Dec. 5 through Dec. 24. On Christmas Eve, Target stores have typically closed earlier, around 6 p.m. This year, while shoppers will still have the chance to make those late-night runs leading up to Christmas, they should remember that the stores will be closed entirely on Dec. 25.
