The LSU Tigers football team has jumped back onto the Top 25 college football polls. The leap back on the polls comes after LSU's impressive win over the #7 ranked Ole Miss at home in Baton Rouge.

LSU beat Ole Miss 45-20 Saturday afternoon on national television which most likely raised the eyebrows of voters and that is why LSU is back in the college football rankings.

LSU jumped back onto the AP poll and is now ranked #18 while they landed at #20 on the AFCA Coaches Poll. Ole Miss after their loss dropped all the way down to #15 in the AP Poll and #12 in the coaches poll.

LSU is now 6-2 on the season. They lost to Florida State and Tennessee this season. Even bigger for the Tigers is they now sit in a tie for first place in the SEC Western division with Alabama who they will face off with next.

Alabama is currently ranked 6th in the polls  Alabama is 7-1 on the season and 4-1 in SEC play. Their only loss this season came from Tennessee also.

LSU is on their traditional by-week this week as they do every year before taking on Alabama. Alabama is also on a by-week this week. Does that show you how big this game is every year when both teams take a by-week before locking up on the field?

LSU and Alabama are set to faceoff in Death Valley at Tigers Stadium in Baton Rouge on Saturday, November 5th. This game will be packed and loud when these two teams battle it out for the first-place spot in the SEC West.
