The LSU Tigers football team were off this past weekend for their annual bye week before the big game with Alabama.

The college football rankings came out yesterday and LSU stayed put at the top spot at #1 for the second week in a row in the AP poll while Alabama is #2.

Now in the Coaches poll the rolls are reversed as Alabama is #1 and LSU is #2.  This Tuesday will mark the first week of the playoff rankings which will be released tomorrow night.  These are the rankings which pits the top four teams as the front runners for the college football playoffs.

That now sets up the huge match up between LSU and Alabama this Saturday November 9th in Tuscaloosa.  ESPN's college gameday will also be in Tuscaloosa this Saturday.
