Two things here in Southwest Louisiana that do not mix are traffic and the heat… Unless you are the guy caught on video playing games while stuck in traffic. He was not just playing games; he was playing games in traffic. Which typically wouldn’t mix, but there’s always an exception.

Here in Southwest Louisiana, we know all about bad bridges and long waits in traffic with the I-10 bridge being in Lake Charles. Well on Thursday, traffic appeared to be backed up for MILES on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge and these certainly were not going to let the traffic stop them from having a grand time.

A video has surfaced throughout Facebook of these buddies stopped in traffic playing CORNHOLE. In the side view and background of the video, you can see the traffic backed up for quite a ways on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. That traffic did not stop them and they made the most of it.

You could say that these guys make the best of a rough situation. Someone here in Louisiana will undoubtedly take this as a life lesson to NEVER travel without cornhole boards. It seems like you could argue that they are a necessity for your trip, no matter where you are going.

Seems like the takeaway from this is, if you’re traveling across the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge you should bring the essentials, COLD BEER and CORNHOLE BOARDS.
