McNeese Announces Attendance Restrictions For Spring Home Games
The 2021 spring sports season is about to start for the McNeese State University athletic department. We are all used to spring sports, like the start of baseball and softball plus soccer and volleyball, but this year it will also include a spring football season.
With that being said, the athletic department had to take a look at how attendance for these games could be done safely while adhering to federal and state guidelines due to the pandemic.
So let's break it down for you. The McNeese football season is set to start on February 13, but their first home game isn't until Saturday, February 27 in Lake Charles. The attendance for spring football games will be capped at 25% or about 3100 fans allowed to attend the games.
For football games, all seats are free and open to the first 3100 fans at the football stadium. If you are a season ticket holder, you can contact the ticket office for info at 337-562-4MSU.
Both baseball and softball will also be set for 25% attendance or about 500 fans at each ballpark for home games. Soccer and volleyball are also capped at 25%.
The athletic department said there are premium seats available for purchase to baseball and softball home games. If you want to find out how to get premium seats, contact the McNeese Ticket Office at 337-562-4MSU or by emailing tickets@mcneese.edu.
Let's hope all the sports go off without a hitch and that we can all go out to support the Pokes and enjoy live sports again in Southwest Louisiana.
