McNeese Softball Set for College Station Regional With Arizona State Matchup
College Station, Texas - It's back to a familiar spot for McNeese Softball as the Cowgirls get set to take on the NCAA Softball Tournament for the first time since 2023. McNeese will open up with Arizona State on Friday.

After winning the first game of the Southland Conference Championship series over cross-border Lamar, McNeese dropped the second, but the Cowgirls wouldn't let history repeat itself and handled business to crush the Cardinals and punch their ticket back to the Big Dance.
The Cowgirls are certainly familiar with the Lake Charles to College Station trip. This will be the third time McNeese has played in the College Station Regional, but the first time since 2018. The Cowgirls have a 2-4 record all-time at this site.
The Cowgirls are playing some of their best softball right now. Jada Munoz, Maddie Weeks, Kassidy Chance, and Maddie Taylor led the charge for the Cowgirls in taking down Lamar in the Southland Conference Championship series to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

McNeese will face off against Arizona State. The Sun Devils come into the tournament with a 41-16 record and just won the Big 12 Tournament. One of their top players is pitcher Kenzie Brown, who has been very strong this season. She recently threw a complete game shutout to lead Arizona to a Big 12 Conference Championship over Texas Tech.
Arizona State has a powerful lineup and is considered by many to be a sleeper team to watch in the NCAA Tournament over the next few weeks.
These two teams have met before in the NCAA Tournament. Back in 2016, they split two games in the Baton Rouge Regional. McNeese won the first game 4-2, but Arizona State won the second game 3-2 in 14 innings.
