McNeese (24-6, 18-1) is coming off a nail-biting 68-66 win against Lamar on Saturday. That victory helped the Cowboys set a new school record for most conference wins in a single season. Now, they can make Southland Conference history by matching the record of 19 league wins, a mark set by SFA during the 2019-20 season.

"It was a really big win. I thought Lamar was tougher and more physical than us in the first half. I thought in the second half, for 16 minutes, we were more physical. They pinned their ears back on the offensive glass late in the game and were able to come back. It was a heavyweight fight between two very, very good teams, and I’m just very pleased with our guys," - said Wade postgame against Lamar

Things between the Cowboys and Cardinals got pretty heated on a few occasions during Saturday's contest in Beaumont. A few flare ups, including one to end the game.

Sincere Parker was huge for McNeese in Beaumont scoring 25 points, including 6-straight free throws down the stretch to solidify the win for the Cowboys.

Now McNeese will head ot Nacogdoches to round out the regular seaon. SFA hasn't necesarilly been kind to McNeese in recent history, as the Cowboys have lost 14-straigh in Nacodoches with their last win coming all the way back in the 01-02 season.

SFA (14-16, 7-12) has struggled this season and was officially eliminated from postseason contention after a 94-70 loss to Nicholls on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks are led in scoring by Matt Hayman (14.1ppg) and Keon Thompson(13.4ppg). Nana Antwi-Boasiako also is a threat for the Jacks as he is a big man that shoots quite a bit of three-pointers.

Christian Shumate had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Sincere, who just scored 25 points against Lamar, added 15 points in the previous matchup with SFA.
