Mike & Chad Celebrate One Year On The Air Together

Today marked one year that two long time local radio guys started a show together. Mike Soileau and Chad Austin have been on the air for years in the Lake Charles area but last year they came together to form the Mike & Chad morning show.

Mike Soileau has been on the air in Lake Charles for over 31 years now on 99.5, 92.9 and 1470am. Chad Austin has been on the air for over 22 years in the Lake Charles area on 99.5 and 96.1 during his career.

Mike and Chad have been voted the best radio DJ's the last seven years in a row and their show voted the best radio show the past three years in a row by the readers of Lagniappe Magazine.

So it only made sense that Mike & Chad come together for a true local morning show.  In the past year, Mike & Chad have gone through some major things in Southwest Louisiana with their listeners.

Mike & Chad along with Your Buddy Russ were on the air for over 40 straight days after hurricane Laura ravaged our fair Southwest Louisiana. They just wanted to make sure to get out all the most important information for the listeners in the SWLA area so they could start their recovery process and just keep them company during their time of need.

Then we went though another hurricane, and ice storm and a major flood but Gator 99.5 and Mike & Chad were with you all the long the way.

Why? Well because they are both from SWLA with Mike from Lake Charles and Chad from Moss Bluff. They care out the area and all their loyal listeners.
