Moody Gardens Festival of Lights Shines Bright This Holiday Season
🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Louisiana — Y’all, it’s that time of year again. The minute the weather cools off even a little bit here in SWLA, my whole family starts talkin’ about one thing… our annual trip to Galveston for the Moody Gardens Festival of Lights. And let me tell you, this place ain’t playin’. Holiday in the Gardens turns that whole property into a straight-up winter wonderland. It’s wild how much they do.
What's there to do at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas?
The big showpiece every year is ICE LAND, I know… ice sculptures on the Texas Gulf Coast sounds kinda crazy. But it’s the real deal, and it’s huge. Towering sculptures, whole scenes all out of ice, colors glowing everywhere. You step in there and you’re like, okay… this ain’t the little ice chest I grew up with. This is the fancy stuff. My daughter loves it.
Once you get thawed out, then you can take that stroll down the Holiday Lights Trail. Millions of lights. Not thousands. Millions. Animated displays, Christmas characters, all kinds of surprises. It goes on and on, and every turn you think you’ve seen the best part… then the next section hits you even harder. And if you’re anything like my crew, you’re gonna take about 400 pictures. It just happens.
Then you got more outdoor fun. They have an ice skating rink where you can test your ankles, and the Arctic Slide, which is basically a giant slide that makes grown adults scream like kids. Trust me, its amazing.
We have tried to make it a holiday tradition at my house. And I’ll tell y’all straight, you are not gonna wanna miss this. Holiday in the Gardens at Moody Gardens is open now through January 3rd over in Galveston, Texas. So load up and take the this holiday trip, you can thank me later.
