Moody Gardens ICE LAND 2026: Watch the Ice Carvers Live

Galveston, TX [KNGT-FM] - One of Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas’ favorite holiday traditions is taking shape! Moody Gardens’ spectacular ICE LAND attraction is officially under construction, and you can watch the magic happen live from anywhere.

A team of 30 master ice carvers from the CCA Ice Carving Team has arrived from Harbin, China, to begin transforming 2 million pounds of ice into an incredible winter wonderland.

With the first roar of a chainsaw, the Ice Breaker event officially kicked off 37 days of carving inside a massive 28,000-square-foot insulated tent kept at a frigid 9 degrees.

Creating a frozen masterpiece in Galveston Island's tropical humidity is no easy feat, making this attraction even more impressive. Even better, you can watch these talented artists bring their icy creations to life through a live stream on the Moody Gardens website.

This year’s theme, Caribbean Christmas, will feature incredible ice sculptures inspired by tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, sharks, and other marine life. Visitors can also enjoy towering ice sculptures, a giant ice slide, and Shiver’s Ice Bar, which serves frosty adult beverages.
