Morgan Wallen Tickets Are HOW MUCH in Lafayette?
Today was a big day for Louisiana Morgan Wallen fans. Pre-sale tickets went live at 10:00 am this morning and boy was Facebook blowing up about it. Shortly after they went on sale, you could see some celebrating their new purchase while others were in sticker shock at the prices.
The pre-sale tickets went on sale today at 10:00 am and Facebook exploded about it. Some posts were excited about getting them, others were in pure shock at the price of the tickets available. The pre-sale tickets that went live today were considered VIP and variable price tickets. Basically, the more in demand the ticket, the higher the price was. I decided to be nosey and go and look for myself to see how expensive these tickets really were.
You now have to wait in a virtual line in order to begin looking for your tickets. I was waiting in said line with over 2000 people ahead of me trying to do the same thing. After about 45 minutes, the number finally dropped to under 1000 and at the hour and fifteen-minute mark, I was allowed to go shopping for tickets.
Lord, they weren't lying on prices. If you wanted to stand for the concert, you'd be paying upwards of $400 to do so! The first ring in the Cajundome seats dropped a bit in price, but as you get closer to the stage, they would skyrocket right back up again.
Did I buy any tickets? Heck no! I work in radio and DJ weddings on the weekend. No way I am dropping a paycheck to see this show. Not because I don't want to see Morgan Wallen, I just like living in my apartment and driving my truck to get to work. It would take both of those payments to buy a pair of tickets to this show it seems.
Others began posting that they were seeing tickets go online for over $1000. The issue with those tickets is that they are being sold by a third-party seller. Sometimes those "scalper" sites aren't even legit. Years back, when I was an Entertainment Manager at a casino here in town, I remember a lady being upset that her tickets were not scanning for Matchbox 20. It turns out, the barcodes were fake and the email she received was for a show that had already happened. We were selling the tickets at the casino for $45. This lady paid over $250 each for her tickets from one of these sites. I am not saying that all of these types of sites are bad, but just be extremely careful when you purchase from third-party sites.
The rest of the Wallen tickets go on sale Friday, and the question will remain on what will the price for the "peasant" seats be? Given the ticket prices for the Jason Aldean show that featured four artists performing, and the current price of the floor seats, don't be surprised if even the nose bleed seats aren't over $150 each. As for me, I will just wait for the Snapchat posts during the show in April and sit on my couch and watch from there.
