Country Music’s Most-Played Songs of 2018 Revealed

Country men dominated the radio in 2018, specifically country men whose names start with the letter "D." These are the most played songs of the year, aka the 10 songs you might have gotten sick of hearing.

You'll find no women in the Top 10, as provided by Billboard, which isn't too unusual, unfortunately. You have to go back to 2012 to find a female solo artist in the Top 10 — Jana Kramer's catchy "Why Ya Wanna." There are usually a few features or male/female groups, but not this year. Luke Bryan and Luke Combs also notched huge radio hits this year. Find both among the most-played songs on the radio, a list that is a true mix of veteran and up-and-coming talent. Kenny Chesney scratches this list of country songs twice — it was a dang good year for the CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee, wasn't it? — while Kane Brown makes it for a second straight year. Russell Dickerson is the only artist to crack this list for the first time, but you have to go back several years to find Dan + Shay. "Nothing Like You" was a smash in 2015.

Just two songs on this list make the country digital sales Top 10, too: "Heaven" and "Tequila." That's not too out of the norm. Often the most played songs get that mark because they take an eternity to climb the charts and live on afterwards. Strong sales represent strong fan demand, which can act as a propellent. The No. 1 seller (Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant to Be") checks in at No. 26 on this list.
