In April of 2010, everyone on the gulf coast jaws dropped after finding out about the oil rig that exploded and started spilling millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf Of Mexico.  It effected gas prices, jobs and the seafood industry along the gulf coast.

Well Hollywood has taken the tragedy and made it into a movie based on true events that occurred on the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010.  The movie chronicles the story from the fire that wasn't extinguished for two days to the largest oil spill in US history to the 11 crewmen that were killed.

The movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Kate Hudson, Gina Rodriguez, and Kurt Russell and it hits theaters tomorrow, September 30th, 2016.

Here is the trailer for the movie:

Since it was so close to home and many folks we know were effected by this directly, I am sure the theaters will be full this weekend in South Louisiana.
