Lake Charles, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - One of Southwest Louisiana's favorite fall traditions is back this year and is set to get started THIS FRIDAY NIGHT. The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has announced the return of Movies Under the Stars, a free four-week outdoor movie series happening every Friday night in October.

Each Friday night, a different family-friendly film will be shown at 6:30 p.m., with events taking place at various locations around Calcasieu Parish. Guests are encouraged to bring their blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks, and free popcorn and cotton candy will be handed out.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury reminds families to arrive early to get a good spot on the lawn.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury just released the full schedule and locations for this year’s series. Things kick off on October 3 at Prien Lake Park with How to Train Your Dragon. On October 10, The Incredibles will be shown at Mallard Junction Park in Lake Charles. The fun continues on October 17 at McNeese State University’s Bulber Auditorium lawn with Big Hero 6. The month wraps up on October 24 back at Prien Lake Park with Wicked.
