Grand Chenier, LA [KNGT-FM] - The 22nd Annual Cameron Fishing Festival returns to Grand Chenier for a weekend packed with fishing, live entertainment, local food, and family-friendly activities.

Presented by the Cameron Lions Club, this year's festival takes place August 7-8, 2026, at Grand Chenier Park, located at 142 Jim Bonsall Road. The event has become a longtime tradition, drawing anglers and visitors from across Louisiana and Southeast Texas to celebrate the region's coastal culture and fishing heritage.

While the festival officially opens Friday afternoon, the fishing competition begins much earlier. Offshore anglers can start casting their lines just after midnight on Thursday, August 6, with bay fishing getting underway early Friday morning. Competitors will bring their catches to the nearby boat launch for the official weigh-ins as they compete for top honors.

Friday's festivities kick off with the annual Blessing of the Fleet, followed by an evening of live entertainment featuring Layne Touchet and Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin' Cajuns. Guests can also browse auction items during the live and silent auctions, which help support the Cameron Lions Club's community programs.
