Saints Preseason Kicks Off This Week With First Game

[KNGT-FM] - It is the best time of the year, football is back. If you are a fan of football, then you have been waiting for this moment since the end of last year's Super Bowl. The wait is finally over as the NFL preseason has kicked off and week one of the preseason gets underway his week with a huge slate of games starting this Thursday night, August 7th, 2025, with three games on tap.

One game has already been played, however, in the young preseason. It was last Thursday night in the Hall of Fame game between the Detroit Lions and the Los Angeles Chargers. Now all the teams will be in action this week. On top of the three games on Thursday night, there will be three games on Friday night and eight games on Saturday.

Then on Sunday, there are two games on the schedule, including the New Orleans Saints' first preseason game. The 2025 Saints will have a completely new look with a new head coach and a new starting quarterback. QB Derek Carr retired, and the Saints hired a new head coach in Kellen Moore. The Saints will be looking to improve from last year when he squad finished the season with a 5-12 record.

The Saints will travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers this Sunday, August 10th. The game is set to kick off at 3:00 pm and will be televised nationally on the NFL Network and locally here on KPLC TV Channel 7 in Lake Charles.
