Nic Hunter to Speak at Teen Connection Event
Lake Charles' own Mayor Nic Hunter is set to speak at the next Teen Connection event this Thursday May 3. The event is from 5p-6p at the Cpl Donald Ray Stevens Recreation Center (1619 Cessford Street).
He will be talking about starting your own business. Hunter, who was elected Mayor of Lake Charles in 2017, has been a small business owner for quite some time. He began to run the family business, Harlequin Steak & Seafood, at only 17 years old. After graduating St. Louis High school, he relocated the business to where it sits now on College St.
Small business is not something new for him, and this will be a chance for teens that are interested in starting their own to listen to someone who has been there and done it. Hunter was awarded "Up & Coming Under 40" by the Times of Southwest Louisiana in 2008.
If you have a teen that is interested in starting their own business, encourage them to attend and soak in some knowledge from "the horses mouth". Did I just call the Mayor a horse?
