The Christmas Holiday is just around the corner, and in the spirit of giving, grab a shoebox out of your closet and give the joy of the season to a poor child. It the easiest and most affordable way to make a huge impact in a child's life.

Operation Christmas Child is an annual charitable event sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, a Christian organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to the poor around the world. Promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ, Samaritan's Purse delivers "Shoebox Gifts" filled with gifts for poor children, who otherwise wouldn't get anything for Christmas.

National collection week for Operation Christmas Child takes place November 14-21. To find a site near you, visit operationchristmaschild.com. Let's give joy to one more child this Christmas!

See how it works below. Better yet, check out how excited and grateful children are when they get their very own "Shoebox Gifts".

All you need is an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox. You don't have to wrap it, or you can wrap the cover and box separately. Then, fill your box for a girl, a boy, or both. For gift suggestions, get things like school supplies, hair bows, toys, color crayons and coloring books, and even personal hygiene items.
