About the Louisiana Railroad Days Festival

DeQuincy, Louisiana, is getting ready for the 43rd Louisiana Railroad Days Festival, happening from April 9–11, 2026, at Railroad Museum Park in downtown DeQuincy. This free, family-friendly festival is alcohol-free and packed with fun for all ages.

The festival celebrates the town’s long railroad history. DeQuincy was established by the Kansas City Southern Railroad in 1897, and the festival has been honoring that heritage since it began in 1984. Visitors can enjoy the community spirit while learning more about the railroad at the DeQuincy Railroad Museum, which features special exhibits and one-of-a-kind artifacts.

There’s something for everyone at the Louisiana Railroad Days Festival. Families can enjoy carnival rides, food vendors, arts and crafts booths, and live entertainment. Kids can join scavenger hunts, pageants, and children’s activities, while adults can enjoy the parade, live music, and community events.

The festival also includes special events like a 5K Run/Walk called “Run the Rails!”, a model train show, and the “Bling Your T-Shirt” contest. Each night features live performances, including gospel music, zydeco, and popular bands from the region.
