Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - The City of Lake Charles is preparing to welcome residents and visitors to a brand-new community celebration on Saturday, June 6th, with the debut of the Riverside Festival at Riverside Park.

The free outdoor event is designed to bring families together for an afternoon filled with live music, local vendors, food, and scenic views along the beautiful Calcasieu River. Set at Riverside Park on Fitzenreiter Road, the festival will run from noon until 5:00 p.m. on June 6th, and promises to offer something for everyone.

Organizers say the event was created to highlight the natural beauty of the riverside while also showcasing local entertainment and small businesses from across Southwest Louisiana.

Guests attending the festival will enjoy live performances from several popular Louisiana artists and bands, including the Flamethrowers, Jarvis Jacob, and Marcus and BreAnn Davis. Festivalgoers can spend the afternoon relaxing in lawn chairs while listening to live music beside the riverfront.

In addition to the entertainment lineup, the festival will feature a variety of food trucks serving local favorites, as well as jewelry makers, craft vendors, and artisans selling handmade items.

Visitors can also take part in a special Riverside History Walk located inside the park’s community center, offering a closer look at the area’s local history and culture. City officials say the event is designed to be family-friendly and welcoming for all ages. The festival will remain alcohol-free, making it a safe and enjoyable outing for families with children.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating, but organizers noted that outside coolers and ice chests will not be allowed inside the festival grounds.
