
Saints-Cowboys Preseason Finale: Time, TV and More
Lake Charles, Louisiana [KNGT-FM] - The 2026 NFL season is right around the corner. Football fans are getting excited for the start of the season but before it can begin, they will need to get through week 3 of the NFL preseason.

For fans of the black and gold, the Saints will close out the 2026 preseason this Friday night, Aug. 28, when they travel to AT&T Stadium to face the Dallas Cowboys. The game will Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm and the game will be televised locally on KPLC TV Channel 7 in Lake Charles.

The New Orleans Saints enter the preseason finale 0-2, after falling to Jacksonville 24-20 before being shut out 34-0 by the Los Angeles Rams. Dallas, meanwhile, is 2-0, beating Seattle 17-7 and Arizona 31-17.

The matchup carries a little extra energy after the teams' joint practice in Oxnard, California, spawned multiple fights that broke out, and both organizations were fined $500,000 by the NFL.

New Orleans finished 6-11 in 2025, fourth in the NFC South and out of the playoffs. Dallas finished 7-9-1, second in the NFC East but also missed the postseason.
Once the Saints get through the preseason, they will then focus on the start of the regular season and its first-week matchup on Sept. 13, when they visit the Detroit Lions at noon.
The 2026 NFL season officially kicks off with a rare Wednesday night game set for September 9th. It will be a rematch of last year's Super Bowl as the Patriots will take on the Seahawks in Seattle. If you remember, Seattle beat New England 29-13. The game will be televised live on NBC.
