Many students and parents have been eager to know when schools will open their doors again, and with power being restored and clean-up efforts underway, school officials have given the all-clear to return. After the passing of Hurricane Francine, schools in Southwest Louisiana are preparing to reopen. Calcasieu Parish, Beauregard Parish, and Allen Parish schools have announced that they will resume classes on Thursday. McNeese State University will also reopen, with classes set to start back up on Thursday.

We have not yet heard anything on Jeff Davis Parish Schools. Superintendent John Hall released this message regarding school early Wednesday Afternoon.

Tonight, between 5 pm and 6 pm, we will be posting the status of our school opening tomorrow, Thursday, Sept 12, 2024. Although we anticipate our schools being open tomorrow, I would like to assess our campuses and make sure our schools have electrical services. Our next post will be between 5 and 6 pm.
