With just over a minute remaining and up 41-17, Winston and the offense moved to victory formation to try to score a touchdown with running back Jamaal Williams. Dennis Allen and his staff had requested they take a knee and try to run out the clock.

A day later, ESPN's Shannon Sharpe grilled Jameis Winston on Monday's First Take, escalating the drama over the New Orleans Saints' late score against the Atlanta Falcons.

In the final seconds of the Saints' rout of Atlanta, Winston informed reporters that it was a "team decision" to punch in another score rather than take a knee in response to coach Dennis Allen's requests. However, the fact that the defense was "giving up" due to seeing the Saints in 'Victory Formation" and the Saints still punching it in for the score rubbed Sharpe the wrong way and wanted the team to respond immediately.

“I would cut Jameis Winston today. I would not want him on my team. That’s loser’s mentality,” Sharpe said.

Sharpe also mentioned that the Saints may have to let go of Dennis Allen since it appears he has no respect inside the Saints' locker room.
