Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - It has been a staple in Southwest Louisiana for the past 86 years, and now it's back to celebrate its 87th year. The Southwest District Livestock Show and Rodeo is coming back to Lake Charles.

The rodeo is set to take place in Lake Charles beginning on Thursday, January 29th, through Saturday, January 31st, 2026, in Lake Charles at the Burton Complex.

One of the first events for the rodeo week begins on Thursday afternoon, and it is not at the Burton Complex but instead takes place in South Lake Charles. We, of course, are talking about the rodeo parade. The parade is set for Thursday, January 29th, and will start at 5:00 p.m.

2026 Southwest District Livestock Show and Rodeo parade route

The parade begins at the corner of East Lagrange and Ryan Street in Lake Charles. It will head South on Ryan, take a left on McNeese Street, and end at the football stadium parking lot. Then Mutton Bustin' will start at 7:15 pm, and the rodeo begins at 7:30 pm inside the Burton Coliseum.

On Friday, January 30th, Mutton Bustin' will start at 7:15 pm, and the rodeo begins at 7:30 pm. Then on Saturday, there will be two shows. The first one begins at 2:00 p.m., and then there is also an evening show. Mutton Bustin' begins at 7:15 pm, and the final rodeo performance begins at 7:30 p.m. inside the Burton Coliseum, and it's Gator 99.5 night.
