Sulphur Lip Sync Benefit to Fight Cancer-This Weekend!
KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — One thing I've learned about folks around Southwest Louisiana is when somebody needs help, this community shows up. That's exactly what's happening for Lori Hess.
The Sulphur Sunrise Rotary Club is putting together a Lip Sync Benefit to help Lori as she continues her fight against Stage 4 Colon Cancer, and it sounds like it's gonna be one heck of a night.
Now before you think this is some serious singing competition, let me stop you right there. Nobody's actually singing. Well, at least we hope not.
Some of Sulphur's leaders, business owners, and familiar faces will be hitting the stage and battling it out in a lip sync contest for bragging rights. And if you've ever seen some of these folks outside of work, you already know this could get entertaining in a hurry. The best part is every dollar raised goes directly to Lori.
Admission is $10 at the door and kids 10 and under get in for $5. Once you're inside, you'll be able to vote for your favorite performers. Votes are just $1 each, so if your favorite contestant is making a fool of themselves on stage, you can reward them for it. Or encourage them. Depends on how you look at it.
Be sure to get there early if you want a good seat. The Tickets are General Admission and its first come first serve.
Ticket information can be found HERE at the Facebook Event.
Cancer affects way too many families across Southwest Louisiana, and events like this remind us just how great our community really is. It's neighbors helping neighbors. Friends helping friends. Everybody coming together for somebody who needs a little extra support.
So if you're free Saturday evening, come out, have some fun, cast a few votes, laugh a little, and help make a difference for Mrs. Lori. Let's pack the place and show her just how much this community is behind her.
