Who Wants to Name a Racing Pig? SWLA Cattle Baron’s Ball Seeks Sponsors
KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Y'all, I never thought I'd be sitting here talking about racing pigs, but here we are. And honestly, it sounds like a pretty good time.
The 2026 American Cancer Society Northrop Grumman SWLA Cattle Baron's Ball is coming up on July 25 at L'Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles, and they're already looking for sponsors for one of the most talked-about attractions of the night.
The Swifty Swine Pig Races. That's right. Actual pig races. Little piglets running full speed down the track with one thing on their minds... getting to that Oreo cookie waiting at the finish line.
I've seen a lot of fundraisers over the years. Auctions. Live music. Dancing. Mechanical bulls. You name it. But there is just something about watching a pig run wide open for a cookie that brings out the kid in everybody. The best part? You can sponsor one of the pigs.
Lake Charles Pig Racing
This is your chance to put your business name, family name, hunting camp, fishing crew, office team, or whatever creative name you can come up with on one of these four-legged speedsters. Can you imagine hearing your company name announced while a pig is flying down the track? That's advertising Southwest Louisiana style right there. And let's be honest. Some of y'all are already thinking about what you'd name your pig.
Maybe "Bayou Bacon."
Maybe "Ham Solo."
Maybe "The Pork Chop Express."
I know some of y'all are gonna come up with names way funnier than that.
The pig races are just one part of what promises to be another incredible Cattle Baron's Ball. Every year folks from all over Southwest Louisiana come together for a night filled with great food, cold drinks, live entertainment, dancing, auctions, bulls, and a whole lot of fun.

But behind all the laughter and excitement is a cause that means something to so many families around here. The American Cancer Society continues its mission to end cancer as we know it for everyone. Since 1946, they've invested more than $5.6 billion in cancer research, helping save more than 1.5 million lives in the United States over the past two decades. That's something worth celebrating.
Cancer has touched just about every family I know. It's one of the reasons events like the Cattle Baron's Ball matter so much. We get to have a great time while helping raise money that stays in the fight against this disease.
So if you've got a business looking for a fun way to get your name out there, or if you've ever wanted to own a race pig without actually having to feed it, this might be your chance. The Swifty Swine Pig Races are available for sponsorship now.
Now I gotta ask. If you sponsored a racing pig, what would you name it? Something tells me the comments are about to get pretty entertaining. Mark your calendar for July 25, dust off those boots, grab your hat, and get ready for another unforgettable night at the Southwest Louisiana Cattle Baron's Ball. And who knows? Your pig just might bring home the Oreo.
