Louisiana Gas Price Averages

The average price in Louisiana on Monday is $3.73 a gallon, according to AAA. A year ago, on June 8, the price was $2.71 a gallon. The National Average, according to AAA, is $4.16.

According to AAA, gas prices in the Lake Charles area saw a slight day-to-day dip across all fuel types. The average price for regular unleaded sits at $3.86, down from $3.88 yesterday and $3.95 a week ago. Mid-grade fuel is averaging $4.30, while premium is at $4.72, both of which are down slightly from last week and last month. Diesel prices are currently averaging $4.88, slightly lower than yesterday’s $4.89 and down significantly from a month ago at $5.08.

According to a PennLive report, AAA also warns that gas price trends remain uncertain.

“Drivers will take all the relief they can get as they embark on summer road trips. But uncertainty lingers over when the Strait of Hormuz will fully reopen and resume traffic. That unknown means oil prices will likely not decrease dramatically as summertime gasoline demand starts going up,” AAA said.
