SWLA Veteran’s Association Holding 5th Annual BBQ
The SWLA Veterans Assocation began as an idea to bring veterans in SWLA together no matter what generation they are from. It started with a BBQ on Veteran's Day 5 years ago with only a handfull of people. Since then, it has begun to grow bigger and bigger through the years. The group holds monthly get togethers, tail gate parties, and a yearly free BBQ each year.
This year they will be at Cooler's Ice House on Ryan Street. They invite all veterans to come and hang out for the day, or even just a little while. It's a way to share stories and fellowship with friends, new and old.
The benefit starts at 11:00am Monday, and will go until the last one leaves. It is free for all Veterans, and family is allowed to come too. Food will be provided along with music from local artists throughout the day.
Music provided by : Skipper Drost, Clayton Rougeau, Brian Racca, Lance Clifton, Brad Brinkley, and to end the night, Rough Company. During the band's breaks, DJ Coldsteel will provide music to dance to.
You want to get there early, every vet that attends will receive a free T-Shirt and Koozie with the event's logo on it while supplies last. They will also sell raffle tickets for some great prizes donated by local businesses.
