Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana Forecast: Friday Storms, Sun

KNGT | Lake Charles — Alright y’all… welcome back to another Cajun Weekend Weather Report, and I got some good news... This weekend isnt going to be a complete washout according to Weather.com. BUT, It's going to be hotter than the hood of your truck in a Walmart parking lot.

Southwest Louisiana is looking at another classic July weekend. Temperatures will be in the low 90s, humidity will be doing what humidity does, and we'll have just enough rain chances to keep us guessing. Let's break it down.

Southwest Louisiana Cajun Weekend Weather Report

Friday
Friday starts things off with a high around 93 degrees and about a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Don't let that scare you. This shouln't be an all day rain event. This should be a quick reminder to us that Mother Nature is still in charge. If you're headed to the ballpark, the golf course, or firing up the grill, just keep an eye on the sky. And yes... go ahead and grab that extra bag of ice. At 93 degrees, you'll be thankful you did.

Saturday
Saturday might be the pick of the weekend. High around 91 degrees, partly cloudy skies, and only a small chance of rain. This is your day to get outside. Go fishing. Hit the lake. Fire up the smoker. And don't forget the sunscreen. The UV index is once again sitting on "cook you like a hamburger" mode.

Sunday
Sunday looks a whole lot like Saturday. High should be around 92 degrees, a mix of sun and clouds, and only a small chance of rain. Honestly, if you get caught in a shower Sunday, it'll probably last about long enough to make your driveway wet. Then the sun comes back out... and somehow it feels even hotter. That's just Louisiana being Louisiana.

Friday: Hot with a few pop-up storms.
Saturday: Probably the best day of the weekend.
Sunday: More sunshine, more heat, and another classic summer day.
