Checkpoint

There is no doubt that the string of DUI checkpoints has removed impaired drivers from our roadways. It has also brought back the "corner" bar. I'll explain.

Louisiana State Police Troop D plans a DWI and seatbelt checkpoint tonight from 10 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location of Calcasieu Parish. The mission is to find and remove impaired drivers from the road before they can cause injury or death to themselves or others...

We love to party in Southwest Louisiana and no one is trying to cramp your style. You are just ask to do it responsibly. The purpose of these checkpoints is to make our roads safer. Designate a driver before the evening starts and you have no worries. My friends and I rotate this duty.
