Despite being a hot bed of NFL talent, only one Louisiana-born player has ever won the Heisman Trophy. LSU's Billy Cannon was actually born in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Texas A&M's John David Crow was born in Marion, Louisiana, making him Louisiana's only native son to win the Heisman.

For the LSU Tigers the game was almost a look into the Chrystal ball. There are a lot of young Tigers who played well and the future looks bright as they come into their own. For the Aggies it was a game lost due to the officials. I never fall for that and I'll tell you why.

Texas A&M were set to welcome the McNeese Cowboys for their home opener on Aug. 30, but word broke Wednesday that the Aggies have broken that contract to play Louisiana Tech instead. The move has left McNeese scrambling to fill the hole in their schedule and could put the Cowboys facing off against a conference rival twice in the same season.
