One of the coolest things you could do this year is make plans to head out to Kinder, Louisiana, and attend the annual Coushatta Powwow. It is a family-friendly event full of live action, culture, and heritage.

According to the Coushatta website,

The Coushatta Powwow is one of the largest in North America and is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

This is a family-friendly event offering a look at the fascinating culture and heritage of Native Americans.

The schedule of events for both days is as follows.

Friday, June 9
5:00 pm -- Gourd Dance

7:00 pm-- Grand Entry

Saturday, June 10
10:00 am --- Gourd Dance

12:00 pm ----Grand Entry

5:00 pm ---- Gourd Dance

7:00 pm ----- Grand Entry

Admission is $8 per day and Children 6 years and under are admitted free. You can pay at the gate on the day of the event. The 26th annual Coushatta Powwow is set for June 9th and 10th, 2023 at the pavilion and it is open to the public. Children 16 years and younger will need to be accompanied by a parent.
