Just exactly what do words taste like?  After reading this I would suggest they sometimes taste like feet.

I have found that it is unwise to make predictions about anything. It's like the old saying " better to say nothing and let them think you're stupid than open your mouth and prove them right". There are some very smart people on this list who said some very smart things. They are being remembered here for the things they said that proved to be the otherwise.

History has a way of pointing out our mistakes. The article at 2spare.com points out some great blundered predictions like "If anything remains more or less unchanged, it will be the role of women." David Riesman, conservative American social scientist, 1967.

Another great one is "It will be gone by June." Variety, passing judgement on rock 'n roll in 1955. Then this happened!

David Riesman would be very single today and Variety could have just wrote about something else .... like music variety.

Can you imagine the founder of Warner Brothers saying "Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?"
back in  1927. There are some great quotes here!

I will share my big prediction for the  future so that my name can someday be compared to these men ( yeah right). I predict that in the future your thumb print will be used as your key to everything, it will serve as your credit card, driver's license and any official ID.

There will be no need to carry all that stuff anymore. Wouldn't that be cool?
