Things Going In Lake Charles & SWLA This Labor Day Weekend Aug 30 – Sept. 1

The Labor Day weekend is finally here. Most people will be off for a three-day weekend and will be looking for something to do. There are a bunch of things going on all over the area like concerts, sporting events, live music at restaurants, and more.

Comedian and Lake Charles native Jen Kober is coming back in from Hollywood and will be live at the Horseshoe Casino Friday night for a big show. The doors open at 7:00 pm and the show starts at 8:00 pm. Get tickets at jenkober.com and go out and have some laughs.

The McNeese Cowboys football team will be in action and play its first home game of the 2024 college football season when they host Southern here in Lake Charles on Saturday night. The game kicks off at 7:00 pm inside the Cowboys stadium.

Country band Parmalee will be performing live Friday night, August 30th, 2024 at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center in Lake Charles. The show gets underway at 8:30 pm.

Linda's Lounge located on Lake Street in Lake Charles will have Dylan Aucoin on Friday night and the superstar Cajun band 4 Horses performing on Saturday night.

The Cowboy Block party is tonight, August 30th, 2024 featuring Three Thirty-Seven playing live. **Update** The first Cowboy Block Party of the season will take place tonight, August 30th, 2024, and has been moved inside the Legacy Center which is where the basketball team plays its games.  The band will take the stage around 7:15 pm.
