I have a cousin in Baton Rouge that just loves everything about Halloween. She is actually a make-up artist for the 13th Gate in Baton Rouge, but that's a whole other store. She is also more basic than I am when it comes to random "cute" things. She has a coffee addiction just like I do, and I think me giving it to her at a young age may be the cause of it. Over the weekend, she posted an article about a "Smiling Pumpkin Mug" that is supposedly made for Starbucks to roll out for this Fall season.

So, me being the good cousin that I am, I started researching where to even find this dumb thing that she probably doesn't need. 2 hours later, I was deep in a rabbit hole of fake Starbucks mugs and cups. Apparently, it's a huge market for companies overseas to capitalize on the fact that everyone loves to collect random things in their lives. That would include the annual release of Starbucks mugs and cups! I also discovered that the Korean Starbucks has really unique mugs and cups that you can't get in the states. Instead, these sellers on eBay find the manufacturer of the cups, slap a Starbucks sticker on them, and sell them to stay-at-home moms, single moms, and basic radio DJs.

This "Halloween Korea Starbucks Cup 2022 Transparent Glass Straw Cup Pumpkin Tumbler" seems to be one of those items. Although it's cute, from what I can tell it's faker than most of Dolly Parton's body. I found a super secret Instagram account that actually knows what cups Starbucks is releasing, and this one is not in there! I really had no idea that there was such a black market for Starbucks cups and mugs. I feel like the FBI will kick in the studio door any minute!

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
