The Arts and Humanities Council of SWLA is holding their seventh annual Arts and Crabs Festival August 17 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The event allows guests to sample amazing dishes, including crab and seafood, all while enjoying local art and culture from around SWLA. As you walk around and taste with your mouth and eyes, you will also be able to sample craft beers to wash it all down during the event.

Another part of the festival is the Chef's Battle. Local chefs from SWLA will compete with their best crab dish for a people's choice award and a best crab dish award that is judged by a panel. The funds raised by the event are put back into the community by holding more and more events, such as the Live at the Lakefront and the Art Walk held each year in downtown Lake Charles.

If you would like to purchase tickets to the event, they are $40 each and can be bought online at their ticket site. You can also purchase them at the Arts Council office located inside of Central School in Lake Charles at 809 Kirby Street , Suite 202.
