Tickets Still Available To See Will Wade’s First Game – McNeese/Southern Miss
THE SHOW IS HERE - McNeese fans are preparing for the arrival of their superstar Head Coach, Will Wade. Wade has been suspended for the first 10 games of the 2023-2024 season. Head Coach Will Wade is set to make his coaching debut for the Cowboys on Wednesday, December 13th against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. There are still tickets available to see the debut of Head Coach Will Wade.
The Cowboys are off to an 8-2 start, and they have done so without Coach Wade. Assistant Coaches Brandon Chambers and Vernon Hamilton have been the interim coaches while Coach Wade was suspended.
If you're not familiar with Head Coach Will Wade, Wade was originally the Head Coach at Virginia Commonwealth before he accepted the Head Coaching job at LSU in March 2017. Wade achieved more than 18 wins in all 5 seasons at the helm of LSU. In 2018, the Tigers made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. Wade did not coach in the NCAA tournament due to being suspended over the "strong-ass offer." Wade and the university battled with the NCAA for years until Wade was let go. Shortly after, "Name, Image, and Likeness" was made legal in college athletics.
Wade was hired at McNeese to be the Head Coach earlier in 2023.
