The best country songs of 2019 introduce a new definition for "hit." Chart-toppers from Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs make this list, and Kacey Musgraves has two songs on the annual list of country music's best songs — but neither made much of an impact at radio.

It's hard to deny the power "Rainbow" and the beauty of her Brooks & Dunn cover. Streaming success and — more than ever — cross-genre appeal impacted our collection of country music's best, giving artists like Lil Nas X and Pink a real chance to crack the Top 10. Alas, neither did, but it's still early. This list will be updated throughout the year.

Cody Johnson and George Strait keep it country, while progressives like "So Long" add flavor to what we're hearing on streaming services or country radio. Airplay, streaming data, sales, staff opinion and reader feedback all come into play when determining the biggest hits of any given year. For that reason, Combs has two songs on the Top 10, including a six-week No. 1 hit in "Beautiful Crazy."

Do you agree with the top country songs of 2019 (so far)? If not, let us know who should be higher or lower, or let us know where we got it right. New music from Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett is expected in 2019. Could they have the year's best song?
