Touch-A-Truck Rolls Into Lake Charles This Saturday at Burton
Lake Charles, LA - The Junior League of Lake Charles is excited to host the annual Touch-A-Truck® event on Saturday, April 5th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Burton Coliseum. This family-friendly gathering offers children a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore and interact with a wide variety of vehicles, including those used in construction, public service, emergency response, utilities, landscaping, transportation, and delivery. By climbing aboard these vehicles, kids can learn about their functions and the importance of safety, all while meeting the dedicated professionals who operate them.
Unstructured play is vital for healthy cognitive development in children. Touch-A-Truck® encourages this by allowing kids to investigate and engage with their surroundings in an educational and entertaining environment. The event aims to foster curiosity and understanding about the vehicles that play essential roles in our daily lives and communities.
The Junior League of Lake Charles offers several ways for the community to support this event:
- Truck Exhibitors: Businesses can showcase their vehicles and demonstrate their roles in serving and building the community.
- Community Participants: Organizations can set up booths with STEM-based activities or games to engage with attendees.
- Entertainment Participants: Local talent can perform and entertain event-goers throughout the day.
- Food Truck Vendors: Food vendors have the opportunity to serve attendees, with a portion of proceeds supporting the Junior League's initiatives.
- Community Partners: Individuals or businesses can sponsor the event through monetary or in-kind donations.
For more information on how to get involved, visit the Junior League's website at https://www.jllc.net/truck-fest/.
Touch-A-Truck® promises to be a day filled with fun, learning, and community spirit. Don't miss this opportunity to create lasting memories with your family while supporting a great cause.
