Lake Charles, La [KNGT-FM] - Christmas is almost here, and people and organizations across Southwest Louisiana are trying to help those families who are in need. Such is the case with our good buddy Michael Boyer, as he is set to hold his 6th Annual Toys Of The Heart Toy Drive and gift giveaway on Christmas Eve in Lake Charles.

Boyer posted this video on social media showing the warehouse that is full of toys and explaining what is going on that night.

Urban Air is located inside the old Kmart building in the Albertsons shopping center on the corner of Ryan Street and Sale Road in South Lake Charles. Here is a chance for Southwest Louisiana families to show up that night and get a gift for their child.

According to Michael Boyer,

We will have Santa, the Grinch, and live music. Southwest Louisiana's Gyth Rigdon, a finalist from NBC's The Voice, will also perform live singing. Marvin Simon, owner of Deep South Productions, donates the stage, lights, music, and Snow Machines. Cajun Air and Insulation will be providing BBQ sandwiches, Hamburgers, and Hot Chocolate. -Toys Of The Heart Toy Drive

On Christmas Eve, a police-escorted caravan coordinated by Nate Keller and the Marshal’s Office will move through some of the community’s most underserved neighborhoods, delivering toys directly to children before everyone gathers at Urban Air to celebrate together.

Families may begin lining up at 4:00 pm at Urban Air. From 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm, a sensory-friendly time will be observed, offering a calmer environment for children and families who need it. Gift distribution will begin around 5:30 pm, and children must be present to receive a gift, ensuring every child personally experiences the moment meant just for them.

Following the sensory-friendly time for children, the event will officially begin at 5:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and be patient, as Boyer and his team will be working hard to make sure everyone who attends is taken care of.
