Wade Hampton Hosting Unique Cancer Benefit Event This Saturday

Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - Here is a fun event you are not going to want to miss. A mix of playing musical bingo, watching three SWLA artists play live, and raising money for a great cause headlines an event to bring people together in Lake Charles this weekend. This one-of-a-kind fundraiser benefits the American Cancer Society.

On Saturday, June 27, residents from across Southwest Louisiana are invited to the CFMA Building at 3481 East Prien Lake Road for Moo-sical Bingo, an event designed to raise funds for cancer research, patient services, and awareness efforts. Doors will open at 1 p.m., with the first round of musical bingo kicking off at 2 p.m.

The event is being championed by KPLC TV Meteorologist Wade Hampton, who is serving as one of this year's American Cancer Society Barons. Through community-driven events like this, Hampton and fellow volunteers are working to generate support for individuals and families impacted by cancer.

This is not like your maw maw's bingo, where you will be listening for numbers. Instead, they'll test their music knowledge by identifying songs and matching them to their game cards. During the event, DJ Goldfinger will keep the crowd singing and dancing with a variety of musical selections.

Guests are also encouraged to participate in the event's Western-themed attire contest. Organizers suggest incorporating a cancer awareness ribbon color into cowboy hats, boots, denim, or other western-inspired outfits as a meaningful tribute to loved ones affected by cancer.

After the bingo action wraps up, the celebration continues with live performances from local musicians Ceth Talbot, JP Primeaux, and Aaron Istre. This event offers more than just games and music. It provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enjoying an afternoon surrounded by good people and fun times, all while helping out a great cause.
